Symposium location: Paraty, Brazil
Paraty is a coastal municipality in the southern region of the state of Rio de Janeiro. It is situated 258 km southwest from the city of Rio de Janeiro. It is located at about the same distance from the international airports of Rio de Janeiro (GIG) and São Paulo (GRU), with similar travel time (about 4 to 5 hours) from both locations.
You will be visiting Paraty in November, during the Brazilian Spring. Average temperatures range between 20°C and 27°C (68°F and 80°F), with frequent occurrences of rain. Although you may pack light due to the warm weather, we suggest to check the extended forecast before packing for your trip. A local forecast service (in Portuguese) is ClimaTempo; they provide a 15-day forecast for Paraty.
The local population is close to 40 thousand people, but the city welcomes hundreds of thousands of tourists during the Summer. Paraty is very tourist-friendly and we encourage all visitors to explore the city and its colonial architecture. You can ask hotel staff for suggestions and recommendations. Symposium venue and accommodation
The venue is the Auditorium of Villas de Paraty. This place has limited accommodation available, but there are several nearby options available within walking distance.
